About Me
Janice L. Jones, L.C.S.W. is an individual, couples and family therapist and maintains a private practice in Wheaton;Illinois. I have over 25 years of experience.
The name of my practice is New Leaf as it suggests that it might be time to make the changes needed to improve your personal, family, work, or spiritual life. I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Examiners in Clinical Social Work.
I hold a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and a Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Additionally I received two years of post-master's training in marriage and family therapy from the Family Institute of Chicago.
Some of my philosopy of treatment includes the following. The phases of our lives can often mimic the seasons of the year meaning a time of death, rebirth, growth and renewal. Changes or transitions in one's life can result in problems of everyday living, marital and family disharmony as well as emotional, physical and spiritual difficulties.
As the well known book, The Road Less Traveled, says in the first line, "Life is difficult." Seeking help early on can make a big difference in how fast one recovers and is able to solve the problems facing them. A trained professional can assess the problems with you and make recommendations toward a resolution and an improved life. Counseling and therapy is basically a process of evaluation, problem definition, planning and problem solving. This is done in a completely confidential setting with a well trained, caring, supportive, professional.
William Shakespeare said, "To Thine Own Self Be True." Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."
You can do it!
